Argentina

White Wines

2008 Finca Los Prados Chenin & Semillon	£6.45
Los Prados white is a very clever piece of winemaking, combining the sweet ripe apple and pear fruit of Chenin Blanc with the savoury, grassy mineral tones of Semillon. If you like Sauvignon Blanc but would like a change from all those gooseberry-type flavours then this will be right up your street.
2009 Piropo Pinot Blanc	£6.45
Medium-bodied and pale yellow in colour. Fresh and fruity pear and apple aromas are balanced by crisp citrus characters and ripe apricot and peach flavours.
2008 Torrentes, Alamos	£8.25
Torrontes is recognized as the emblematic white grape of Argentina, thriving in the high altitude vineyards. This is a pleasant, interesting white wine in a light summer style. The striking floral nose is delicate and aromatic. This wine will make a superb match to well seasoned spicy food.

Red Wines

This lovely red is a real gem with good colour and a nose of redcurrants, cassis and capsicum. The palate is fresh, juicy and abounds with crunchy red fruits and a hint of green peppercorns on the finish. A real wow with steak!
2008 Famiglia Bianchi Malbec, Mendoza	£10.00
Valentin Bianchi's Famiglia Bianchi Malbec has a luscious, intense fruit aroma, with hints of ripe plums, cherries and berries. Massive, yet soft and silky, mouthfeel and a lush, long finish. It is the perfect expression of the highly-praised Malbec grape.
2008 Altos Las Hormigas, Malbec, Mendoza	£10.00
Founded by Alberto Antonini and Antonio Morescalchi in 1995, this superb winery sited in Lujan de Cuyo produces only Malbec. It is already rated as one of the top five growers of Malbec in Argentina. This is a truly exciting wine that is both big and elegant.
2006 Particular Malbec, Bianchi, Mendoza	£12.50
At 700 meters , the Dona Elsa Estate is one of the highest and coolest vineyards in San Rafael, itself an enclave of Mendoza. This is a bench-mark Malbec, luscious and silky with a savory twist to harness and contextualize the sweetness of fruit. Perfect with a slab of steak or a hard cheese!
2004 Caro Cabernet Malbec, Lafite-Catena	£35.00
A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Malbec, aged for 18 months in French oak. Purple-colored, it has a classy perfume of wood smoke, spice box, pencil lead, blackcurrant, and black cherry. The wine is full-bodied, elegantly styled with a smooth texture and silky tannins. The fruit has excellent depth and concentration. Drink now-2025

2008 Casa Piedra Chardonnay, Via	£5.75
A very affordable high quality Chardonnay. Melon, pear and apple aromas dominate the nose, and the palate is packed with green apple and ripe citrus flavours.
2009 Viña Chocalan Saubignon Blanc Selección, Casablanca	£8.25
Fresh and aromatic on the nose, perfumed with crisp green apple and a twist of lime. On the palate it is clean and zesty, with a light, fine fruit character, hints of tropical fruit and a good, fresh finish.

Red Wines

Juicy and succulent with bags of ripe Merlot fruit and soft clean finish.
2008 Calbuco Cabernet Merlot, Central Valley	£6.75
Deep red in colour, with aromas of black forest fruits and a touch of cigar leaf which comes from the Merlot. A plump, soft wine with lovely ripe fruit character, supple tannins and deliciously juicy finish.
2009 Adobe Carmenère, Emiliana	£7.45
Chile has made Carmenère its own and this is your chance to try it in its pure, unadulterated state. Sweet, ripe, lightly peppery cherry flavours abound on this medium bodied wine.
2008 Tabalí Reserva Especial Pinot Noir, Limarí	£10.50
A delicious, mouthwatering delicate Pinot Noir with smoky strawberry fruit, fresh citrus acidity providing the backbone and a gentle, soft silky finish. Only 20% of the oak used is new which gives it a spicy but not overpowering character. The perfect partner with roast lamb, Autumnal stews or hearty risotto.

Full-bodied with animal and earthy notes on the nose, with a hint of toast and vanilla. Beautiful fresh dark fruits on the palate, hints of blueberry and dark chocolate. Lively acidity with great balance and a mouthwatering, long finish.
