Italian wines showcase the richest variety of individual grape varieties. Italy’s temperate climate and diverse peninsula topography perfectly suit it to wine production in every province of the country. Despite natural ability and talented winemakers, Italy has always fought local and national bureaucracy, which makes it difficult for the rest of us to understand what is going on! We believe that you need to experience the culture and drink the wines – there are wonderful surprises in every region. Our list of Italian wines has been put together to show tipicity and diversity. As agents for Pio Cesare, we have stocks of some of the greatest Piedmont wines – his 2005 Barolo and Gavi di Gavi to name but two. In Tuscany we represent, amongst others, Riccardo Falchini, whose Vernaccia and Chianti are consistently excellent. Sergio Mionetto produces the best Prosecco I have tasted in the Valdobbiadene area of the Veneto. Our range of wines from Italy is esoteric and enticing.
